New Spam campaign on Twitter Leads to Rogue AV

Early today, Kaspersky Lab discovered a new ongoing spam campaign on Twitter. Hundreds of compromised accounts are currently spamming malicious links, hosted on .TK and .tw1.su domains, leading to Rogue Anti Virus softwares. (more…)

McAfee DAT troubles

McAfee has confirmed that incremental DAT 6682 may trigger message scan failures and a system crash in GroupShield Exchange (MSME), GroupShield Domino, and McAfee Email Gateway 7 (MEG). McAfee recommends that customers do NOT upload DAT 6682.

Office 2007 gets a six-month support extension

You may have seen a few headlines this week noting that Office 2007 was exiting the free support phase this week, and moving into the “Extended” (paid) support period.

Actually  Microsoft quietly gave Office 2007 (with Service Pack 3) an extension. Instead of moving into the Extended Support phase on April 9, as was the original plan, Office 2007 now moves to Extended on October 9, 2012. Extended support for the product ends on October 10, 2017. (more…)
